Buy from Police Auto Auctions
So it’s time to buy that new family car and finances are a little tight. off course don’t be humiliated about this. With these current economic circumstances the majority of people are cutting on their expenses as much as possible
Very few people haven’t heard of the amazing deals that you can get at a police auto auction. The question however still is: Are they really as good as people say they are? I’m sure by now you’ve heard of the big bargains you can get at a police auto auction, but perhaps you’re still wondering if all of this isn’t just hype..
This question is best answered by looking at the origin of cars sold at police auto auctions. All these cars have been seized (confiscated) because of an array of criminal offences. Simply put, the police does not wish to get the absolute highest possible prices for these cars like banking and other financial institutions wish to. Buyers couldn’t ask for anything better than this. It’s simple to see why, because you are buying something from a seller that will sell at a suitable non-market related price.
So you are sold on the idea of buying cars at police auctions. How should you proceed now going forward?
The easiest thing you can do is to get in touch with your local police station. The odds are pretty good that the first person you’re speaking to won’t really know how to help you. If lady luck is on your side, you may actually be pointed in the right direction straight away and transferred to the relevant finance department. Nothing is easier than starting. get the relevent dates from them and attend the next upcoming event.
You also hear of these events through flyers, newspapers, online advertising platforms, etc.
So if you have the dates of all the upcoming events, about only 20% of your job is done. After having done this you shoul obtain a brochure which will list all the cars that will be sold by the police department. You can normally get this from the auctioneer. On this list you can identify a shortlist of vehicles that are of interest to you.
After you obtained this list, focus your energy on doing your homework on these vehicles in the form of inspections, valuation calculations and in-depth research. This will really enable you to identify the autos that are worth your time to bid on, and the cars that aren’t. They golden rule is not to get emotionally exited at the auction event but rather let your actions be guided by your research work. Follow this strategy and your next car will be purchased with much less money you’ve budgeted for!
