@missdaisyboggan i dont know about 400-500kg? but F1 cars redline at about 20k RPM thanks to pneumatic valves and very high compression, just google it

This class did exist in the 80s, before you were born! Group B had a weight class as low as 820 kg which the Renault 5 Turbo was built for while the 600hp 4WD monsters had a weight limit of 890 kg. They banned them for several reasons a) they were so fast they needed to introduce a 'superlicense' like in F1 but didn't b) they made F1 look like shit and started? pulling manufactures out of F1 and into rally c) Kevlar and 1000C turbos don't mix well in huge crashes in remote locations.

Yes I know what you're thinking, what I'am saying sounds? crazy. But Hey F1 did ran cars that weighed between 500kg and 600 kg over the years. What I am saying is that the FIA would have to create a new class (category) for WRC cars. They probably should introduce a prototype class like they do at both Le Mans and the Dakar Rally, but to certain restrictions regarding power and weight.
